A ballet wedding styled shoot at the Château de la Grange Cochard
Ballet dance: the passion that rocked me all my childhood! This editorial wedding shoot at Château de la Grange Cochard was designed to link my two passions, ballet dance and photography. As a wedding photographer in Lyon, France, this ballet wedding shoot was a must have!
Before we start, a quick reminder of what an editorial styled shoot is. This is a fake wedding to showcase the skills of different vendors: during real weddings, the bride and groom do not always authorize the featuring of their images, and it is not the vendors who choose what their wedding will look like. An editorial shoot like this therefore allows each wedding vendor to show something different, creative, to work on a new editorial line, to communicate on images that have been designed for them and not to satisfy customers. That’s why as photographers and videographer, with Thomas we co-organize a few each year!

For this editorial shoot, our choice for the reception venue fell on the Château de la Grange Cochard: we immediately liked its large bright orangery, as well as its spacious and elegant rooms. This place in the middle of the vineyards is used to hosting sumptuous wedding receptions. It is located in Villié-Morgon, about an hour’s drive from Lyon Airport. It is also a wine estate in the process of being converted to organic farming: the owner will have you taste his delicious red wines in his cellar!
Aurélia Prado’s dress was chosen for its vaporous fabrics that fly away with the movements of the dancer, in recycled cotton and oeko tex crepe.
We have chosen calligraphic stationery, handmade by Julie and Et cetera studio: aerial writing that dances!
The florist, Noémie from Au paradis des fleurs, created for the shoot a delicate cascade of flowers for the decoration of the table, the latter reminiscent of the danced movements.

With this editorial wedding, we wanted to represent the sweetness of a timeless moment, the representation of a dancing love, a very secret and intimate feeling. The newlyweds evolve with the grace of ballet dance in the middle of the reception hall. Their movements are tender and delicate, their eyes tell each other all the love they have for each other and the fabrics fly away as if lifted by a light breeze.
Every minute that passes is precious and the seconds are filled with complicity and joy. We hope that by reading these few lines and immersing yourself in the images, you too will feel the sweetness that we wanted for these images!

A very special thank you to the wedding planner who made my dream as a little girl possible, this link of marriage with the world of dance: Aude Grosbois!
A big thank you also to our two talented professional dancers who joined us to create these light and graceful images.
