J&P: a castle and lavender wedding in france
the Story of their wedding
On June 19, J&P said yes!
For their wedding, they chose a beautiful venue, the castle “de Joyeuse”, in Lapeyrouse Mornay, next to Lyon, in France. The preparations took place in the pretty rooms of this castle, and the first look (the discovery of the bride and groom, once ready for their union) took place in its large wooded park.
The guests then arrived at the castle and we headed to the town hall of Lapeyrouse Mornay, a 5 minute walk away. After the masked civil ceremony, we photographed the religious ceremony in the church a few meters from the town hall: a very beautiful ceremony followed by a throwing of flower petals and then a carriage ride for the two lovebirds.
During the reception, the bride and groom took us in a 5-minute drive from the castle de Joyeuse, to a beautiful lavender field to take their couple photos. We took advantage of a soft light for these shots, which are our favorite of the report! A bee slipped into the bride’s princess dress, but luckily we managed to get her out without a hitch. We then returned to the castle to take some group photos before starting the diner !
The meal was punctuated with beautiful surprises including fireworks, speeches, dances and songs from the guests!
A very beautiful sunny day, spared by the rain which was announced. A big thank you to J&P for trusting us with the images of your big day and for allowing us to share them!
the castle de joyeuse
The Château de Joyeuse is relatively recent since its story beging in the 18th century by the de Barrin family, a very influential family in the history of Lapeyrouse-Mornay. It is a typical Dauphinoise residence. It is made up of about twenty rooms, over 600 square meters of living space, with 5 beautiful bright bedrooms, including a suite (very practical when you want to spend your wedding night there!). The large entrance hall opens onto several rooms and a staircase leading to a gallery and the upstairs bedrooms, which gives the chateau a spacious and airy feel.
You enter the estate through a large gate, followed by a large driveway that goes directly to the main building. The hundred-year-old trees in its park add charm to this very welcoming place, and the view offered is splendid!
During the Second World War, following the destruction of the Lapeyrouse Mornay school, its buildings were used for class!

If you were wondering, here is the list of providers who participated! J.’s makeup was done by Megan Kosmos MUA. The florist who provided the beautiful bridal bouquet is Inflorescence. The caterer chosen by our newlyweds is called caterer Anselme, in Vénissieux.
