A rock'n roll chic wedding in the streets of Lyon
The charming city of Lyon in France recently hosted a rock and roll chic wedding in its streets: an editorial shoot to make you want to do an urban photo shoot too during your wedding or your elopement in Lyon!
I teamed up with wedding planner Écrin de Nacre, a specialist in this dazzling city, to bring this rock and roll urban wedding to life with a soft color palette in various shades of pink.
The striking architecture of the city of Lyon is a constant source of inspiration for me, it was high time to do something about it! I decided to change the atmosphere a bit: I was tired of ultra romantic and sweet wedding inspiration shoots. So we kept the soft colors of fine art wedding photography, since that’s my field, and we add a touch of madness, a touch of rock, and a slightly crazy couple, we mix it up, and voila!

This rock and roll wedding is an ode to the present moment, with the old buildings of the city of Lyon as witnesses, and proposes to make the city in which you are getting married your playground for a couple photo session with rock n roll atmosphere.
One of the top tips if you’re in the mood for street shots, no matter what city you choose to get married in: get up early to avoid the crowds and make sure you have beautiful light in every shot! Your wedding photos will give off a special energy, just the two of you in the middle of this huge city.
The bride’s dress, a creation by Delphine Pinel, is in two parts to allow freer movement and give an original and slightly rock touch to this traditional wedding outfit. The front of the dress is chic with a rock and roll look, but it was the details on the back that’s really interesting: the opening and the lace accentuate the bride’s body.
The groom’s pale pink suit is a sophisticated, chic and avant-garde two-piece. Associated with sporty nikes, the rock and urban look of the groom becomes undeniable! If your wedding falls during the hot summer months, this suit color is an option to consider to keep you cooler on your wedding in town or outdoors.
During this wedding shoot, I wanted to highlight carefree newlyweds, happy to savor a moment out of time, with shots full of spontaneity reflecting the playful and rock n roll side of the couple. I also wanted a fashion-oriented atmosphere and to put myself in the shoes of a paparazzi photographing movie stars!
No need for a leather jacket, vinyls or whiskey for this rock wedding shoot, I wanted most of the rock and chic theme to be in the attitude of my bride and groom, to show you that my primary objective as a wedding photographer marriage is to highlight your personality.
